Our Mission

The Action Aid Program (AAP) is a non-profit corporation that seeks to build the hopes and boost the aspirations by working with parents who cannot read and write or who do not know what to do about their problems and their children.

Our focus on encouraging New American children to increase their learning ability, work with them to reduce their challenging behavior, encourage them to stay in school and pay attention to their lesson.

IMMIGRATION ASSISTANCE & CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION

The program addresses particular concerns and problem areas. The clients we assist mostly individuals who are not only indigent and cannot afford attorney fees, but they cannot read and write which is an added disadvantage.

Domestic Violence

Domestic violence is a systemic problem within the New American community. The culture of man dominance and wife battering is an issues we have had to deal with for years.

Working With Parents

Most New American Parents, especially those refugees coming from African, have very little education. Most cannot read and write. As a result, most these parents do not participate in their children’s education activities. They do not attend Parent-Teacher meetings, or if they attend, they contribute very little to what the teachers tell them about their children.

The AAP will engage parents, educate them why it is important for our representative or staff to attend their children’s activities and intervene so that the parents do have to worry. Patents maintain 100% rights over their children’s education activities. We will engage with the schools of these children to ensure the best interest of the students.

Our Mentoring Program

One of the major problems that affects the New American community is who can the children look up for leadership. Their parents came to the U.S without knowing the laws, culture and social upbringing of children. They do not know what to do. As a result these children do things on their own. That is where Action Aid Program comes in to mentor them to achieve the followings:
